Great Location for the Dunes
Dunes Express Inn & SuitesI was attending Jeep Invasion at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in early June. We usually camp since my friends and I like to bring our dogs plus the campgrounds are closer to the ORV Park. However, given our cold and rainy spring we needed a pet friendly option since we didn’t want to chance the weather and try to camp. The property is older but the rooms were clean, breakfast was included with the stay and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the dunes which is the only downside. As long as they keep the property nice I would definitely stay here again. I recommend booking well in advance given how popular this region is during the summer and this is one of the only pet friendly hotels somewhat close to the dunes.
Great Food!
The Cherry HutI was traveling with my dog over the 4th of July holiday. I came across a review and thought I would try it. Excellent food for the price if you like traditional comfort food and be sure to bring your appetite! The server was very friendly and was so good to my pup. She made sure his water bowl was full every time she checked on the table or brought our food out. The patio is dog friendly but small. They only have 2-3 tables so be prepared to wait or have a back up plan. In the summer the patio is mostly in the sun so it might be warm for you and the pups. I went closer to 7pm and it was fine. Overall I was pleased with the experience and will stop again if I’m in the area.
