My border collie mix and I go everywhere together. Here's to more wineries, restaurants and places to go with your pooch!

Busy on the Weekends

Fox and Goose

We visited last Sunday and I wisely left my pooch at home. Yes, this restaurant is dog friendly, but I would only recommend small dogs. They have a long skinny seating area in front which the staff uses to serve their guests. If you have a big dog, they won't have enough room to fit under the table or next to the table.

The wait staff was very friendly and were happy to see my friend's tiny Maltese.

Great sushi and the dog came too

Ozumo Santana Row

I love this sushi restaurant, but I just discovered that they have an outside patio where you can sit with your dog! I only gave it three bones because the space is pretty tight and my pup wouldn't have been as comfortable if we had had neighbors.

The food is delicious. We had edamame, karage, sake sashimi and ramen--all excellent!

Outside Patio is Tight

Sushi Confidential

Sushi Confidential brought out a dog bowl for my dog, but it was a super tight squeeze to fit chairs and my dog on the ground. The food is decent--get the triple edamame dish if you have a group. Otherwise, your dog has to be very comfortable (and tired) if they are going to sit still without being distracted by all of the servers and diners passing close by.

Wine, Live Music & the Pup

Summer Music Concert at Nostra Vita Winery

I stopped by Nostra Vita Family Winery on Saturday for one of their summer music concerts. I bought tickets in advance, so it only cost $10 per person, but it's $15 at the door. I also found out that wine club members get tickets for $2.50! Anyway, I had my dog, Mia, with me, so she hung out at my feet while my friends and I enjoyed some wine and delicious BBQ ribs. Dogs are welcome, but not free to roam, which is why I gave it 4 bones, but still an awesome place. Dogs are always welcome as long as they are on a leash.

Pizza Pies with the Pooch

Smack Pie Pizza

Mia (my dog) and I come here every so often for lunch. They're not particularly attentive to dogs, but they have a cute patio space (think big, comfy cushions, shade or bar stools for a quicker stop). If you've brought the pooch, you can hang out outside at one of their many tables. Only caveat is you'll have to go in yourself to collect your pizza. I've never taken my dog in with me to grab my food (she sits by the table), but they might not mind a quick trip inside if your dog is on their leash. Food is great--and you can bring your dog. Score!

Great back patio for lunch with dog

Panera Bread

Panera Bread is one of my lunchtime standards. With delicious salads, sandwiches, coffees, teas, pastries (get their candy cookie), it's a great place to refuel and you can bring the dogs too! I'll meet friends here and sit in their large patio to the south of the restaurant for lunch. They don't offer any water for the dogs, so make sure to bring your own.

Lunch with the dog

Panera Bread

This Panera location has all of the standard favorites: soups, sandwiches, paninis, pastries, coffees, smoothies. I love Panera because the salads actually fill me up! I'll stop here to refuel and sit outside in front at the tables with my dog. They have some big umbrellas to shade from the sun, but it can get hot outside. Still, one more place where I can take my dog and do people things at the same time.

Cute patio for coffee w/ the pooch

House of Coffees

I love authentic coffee shops where you can get a delicious latte or cup of tea. These folks make house roasted and brewed coffee that is just the thing I need to wake up in the morning. More importantly their outdoor patio is covered by a huge overhang and is perfect for sitting with your warm (or cold) beverage with your furry friend. I see people ride up on bikes or walk in with their furry people in tow. If you don't like coffee, their chai lattes are delicious!

A Dog Friendly Restaurant

Lodi Beer Co

Lodi Beer Co is friendly to dogs, but their outdoor patio is small. If your dog is "extra" friendly, they will be trying to squeeze between the bars to sniff the passerby, or your waiter. They brought a water bowl out for my dog and were super nice. Food is good too!

We're a Regular here

Vinewood Dog Park

Vinewood Dog park always has some fun people and dogs running about. The park is very long so the dogs tend to split into two groups, one on the west and one on the east side--which is Great! If the dogs on one side of the park aren't as playful, there is always more space to play ball with your pup. Never had any problems with the crowd here. My dog has a great time!
