Irresponsible Owners

Bernal Heights Park

Highly irresponsible owners leaving off leash dogs behind to get stalked by coyotes. Also, many off leash dogs are not under voice control. Not good.

Nope

The LINQ Hotel + Experience

Please do not stay here while the parking lot is under construction. When I was here last week, the Linq parking lot had flooded and there was a lot of construction happening. As a result, the parking situation was a mess with no clear signage in or around the Linq and Harrah's garages. I parked at Harrah's and had the worst time carrying my luggage from the Harrah's parking lot, through Harrah's casino, then through the Linq casino, and finally to the front desk and my room. (Also, I had to wait in line for about 20 minutes to check in, since both the app and kiosk would not let me check in.) No one was able to give clear directions on how to get from Harrah's parking lot to the Linq rooms, because no easy path exists. Then I spent a tremendous about of time and did lots of extra walking trying to figure out how to get my dog from the car to the room, since dogs are not allowed to walk on the strip during this time. The dog and I took a back entrance, walked up a flight of stairs, through a hallway and storage area of broken appliances, up an escalator, then finally up another elevator. HEADACHE. The room was clean and everything was fine, but I assume my location in the hotel was where all the other people with dogs were staying. I could hear little dogs endlessly barking while their owners were away, which was worrisome and also annoying. The good things about this hotel are its location, the Linq Promenade, and no pet fee with the pet stay room. I would be extremely reluctant to stay here again, and definitely not while the parking lot is under construction.

Decent, Nice Staff, Breakfast Lacking

La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport

The location of the hotel feels remote--like there's not much in walking distance. The rooms were basic but solid, as with most La Quintas. It had a fridge and coffee maker in the room. I liked being able to park right in front of my room since I had my big dog with me. At the same time, an exterior room also means it's noisier. All the staff was really nice. The breakfast could've used a little bit of help though; they had no breakfast meat or scrambled eggs--just cereals, bagels, pastries, yogurt, and biscuits.

Average. Convenient.

Bryce Canyon Resort

I booked this hotel based upon three things: the location, no size restrictions for pet guests, and the price. I was not expecting much from this hotel where I was only staying one night. The room was clean and very basic with southwestern themed bedding. I like that I could park very close to my room, which is easier for me with a giant dog. I appreciated the coffee maker in the room, and complimentary breakfast buffet. They did charge a resort fee, though I'm not really sure what that included. I'd stay here again when going to Bryce Canyon NP.

First Choice in Las Vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

I believe the Cosmopolitan is the only hotel on the strip that does not have a size limit. The $50/night pet fee is reasonable, since most of the other hotels on the strip charge much more and only allow small dogs. My dog thoroughly enjoyed his welcome box from the hotel. The dog area next to the Chelsea pool is convenient, but was so small that my dog could barely turn around in it (I don't imagine it would be an issue for most dog owners though). In addition to being great for dogs, the hotel is absolutely amazing for humans too.

Perfect in Palm Springs with a Big Dog

ARRIVE Palm Springs

I stayed at this hotel because they allow dogs of any size for no additional fee. Parking was convenient and very close to the rooms. It was easy to get in/out of the hotel to walk the dog. The front desk has biscuits for fur guests.
