Cool 70s vibe

We have been traveling cross-country with our dog for 13 years now and pick random stops along our way to try out. The Highlander has been my favorite stop in those 13 years! It’s only 2 levels which helps with a aging pup, and reduce noise. We did have a room on the bottom floor right by the door for easy access for dog bathroom breaks. The room was comfortable with all the things you need and none of the stuff you don’t. Each room seems to have its own theme with artwork etc. The 1970s vibe was appreciated and we almost booked another night just to hangout there. The staff was very helpful, accommodating and super friendly! The parking lot was massive and we could actually park right next to our room (that doesn’t happen often). All in all If we are ever in the area again I will most definitely stay here again. I know this location has a history but it would be cool to see these in other cities around the US.
