Really big room!

It was nice to have a bedroom, sitting area (with fireplace), and kitchenette. My doggo loved it. Staff is very nice and helpful.

My dog loves this place

I love staying here but I wish the would stop deactivating key cards until you check out. Twice I have been locked out of my room after midnight on the day I was due to checkout, once for four hours. That being said, it's a great place for you and your dog(s).

Staff was absolutely great

Very dog-friendly staff, clean and nice hotel. Really great breakfast bar in the morning. The one knock against this property is that it is not near a lot of things (some but not a lot). Do hike the Legacy Point trail with parking across from the 7-11.

Very nice rooms

Very nice rooms, cozy and clean. Hotel is in a good location, but there is not much grassy area nearby. Across the road is the Noyo Headlands, and there is grass and an off leash park.

But the queen size bed rooms are pretty small. Lots to see and do nearby.

Meh

I want to like this place as the kitchenette rooms are fairly spacious. But there is not enough parking and I don't expect to park on the street for those rates. This just a dog-tolerant place and not really doggo friendly.

Good time for me and my doggo

On a rainy night, they let me and my dog eat and drink inside at the bar (I was happy to sit out on the patio).

Good beer selection with good waitstaff.

If you don't order the Cowboy Cubano sandwich and sweet potato fries, I don't even want to know what you are doing with your life. This is easily one of the best things I've eaten in 2022. I'll be pulling off the 101 for years getting this sandwich to go.

Awesome spot

I was in a studio room, which was very large. Plenty of room for me and my doggo. The grounds are landscaped with all kinds of succulents, cacti and palms. The location is awesome for you and your dog. The rear gate to the property opens right to the beach and is a couple of hundred yards from Dog Beach. There is also a sizable grassy area behind the hotel for your dog to run around in. The one drawback is that Ocean Beach is in the flight path of the airport. The noise isn't bad, but if your dog is sensitive to that, it could be a long stay. Remember, this is Ocean Beach which is a little less, uh, formal than say the Gaslamp Quarter or the Convention Center. It's a beach town and this is a beach hotel.

Not ready for prime time

I really wanted to like this place, but it has some issues. There was a serious plumbing issue that caused the room to be unusable. The property managers were reluctant to even move me to another room! It was after 9pm, so finding another room would be troublesome at best. There is also some light construction around the property that is not safely cordoned off creating potentially dangerous situations for children and pets. That being said, the rooms are pretty small but quaint. The property itself is between a dog-friendly alehouse with great food and a coffee place (not dog-friendly). Maybe I'll try this place again in the future when the reviews get better, but for now there are better options in Shell Beach.

Big rooms for your pup to run around in

Pleasantly surprised at the size of the room which was clean and filled with light. The place was busy the night I stayed, but noise was not an issue. Good location and sizable area for your dog on the north side of the parking lot.

It's clean and cheap

It is basic accommodation. The dog rooms face a truck stop parking lot, so if your doggo is not down with rumbling, truck idling and air brakes, this isn't a good option.

Such a great property

The staff was excellent here. They gave me a room at the end of the hall (I had a lot to unload and load) which was HUGE. My doggo loved it and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here or recommend it to someone. If I ever find myself in Laramie again, I am definitely staying here.

This is kind of like...

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel without the charm or interesting people. It's not dog-friendly so much as pet-tolerant. The room was a bizarre non-Euclidean space and even the toilet is some weird rocking chair. My doggo hated it and so did I. There are better options in Des Moines, and you should take them. The one saving grace to this property is that it is next to a gas station that has an awesome taco truck in it's parking lot. Get the carne asada burrito. You're welcome.

Nice property with kind staff

The rooms and staff were very nice. You're not lacking for food options nearby as there is a Cracker Barrel across the parking lot and a couple of fast food options as well. There is a lot of grass around the hotel for your doggo. You probably won't want to go for a walk, as the area's charm score is near zero. But if you need a nice, clean place to stay and grab a bite after and before you head back down I-80, this is the place for you and your doggo.

This was A-OK

It's a Motel 6, which generally warrants a 3-bone, but there are a TON of (good) food options nearby. The room was clean, but kind of on the small side. The area is walkable without fear of you and doggo get smushed by a semi. There is also a 24-hour convenience store/gas station across the parking lot.

Wanted to love this place just a bit more...

But it is about a half-mile from any sort of civilization. It is near the highway, but sound was not an issue. The rooms are clean, roomy, and nicely appointed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ample concessions near the front desk. There is a BBQ area with some grass for impromptu fetch sessions with your doggo. Rock Springs is a great little town, I just wish I was a bit nearer to it.

Really nice stay

The staff treated my doggo warmly and with plenty of treats. It's a nice property with clean, sizable rooms. Much, much better than some of the discount options in Winnemucca. Not a lot of grassy areas, but the neighborhood is walkable. And I suggest you walk to the nearby BBQ place which is delicious and very dog-friendly. Casino action across the parking lot if that's on your agenda.
