Horrible
Americas Best Value Inn PhillipsburgI can't believe anyone could give this place 5 stars. It was the 2nd worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. I tried to find another for the last two nights of our three night stay, but nothing else in the vicinity took dogs. The stairwells are under construction -- the carpet or covering has been removed from the stair leaving just the plastic edging -- a trip hazard. It was the same way in July when we stayed there! The bedspreads were ripped, seams coming apart, cigarette burn holes, you name it. I took photos in case they tried to tell me my dogs did the damage! The curtains were falling off the rods, there was no closet, only a shelf hanging on the wall with a curtain rod (and one end was loose) with no hangers! There were old mattresses stacked up at the end of the building. The grounds were littered with beer bottles and cans - I was terrified to walk my dogs anywhere on the grass in case there was broken glass. The floors in the room (no carpet -- a fad with rooms they allow pets in -- made my socks black. The towels were extremely thin and small. The pillows were like rocks. All in all, there is nothing I can say that is positive about this place.
Clean and Comfortable
Sleep Inn & Suites Harrisonburg Near UniversityVery nice hotel, clean and comfortable. The only thing that kept it from 5 stars for me was the only way into the rooms was through the lobby. We much prefer being able to get in and out of the room through a less public entry, especially when you do that last "out" of the night. A minor point, and one that many people wouldn't care about. Otherwise, nice place.
