The Pleasant Grove Dog Park has a separate entrance and parking from the main Pleasant Grove Park - it's closer to the town of Palmyra off of Trailhead Dr. The fenced dog park has 3 sections which I would estimate total at least 2-3 acres. There is a pump for water, poop bags (usually brought by regulars), garbage, kiddie pools, and shade. There are a good number of regular visitors to the park who come almost daily, but the old timers are always welcoming to newcomers. At peak times, usually sunny weekend afternoons, there may be up to 20 dogs in the park. More often, it's 5-10. From the dogpark, it's an easy walk to Sandy Beach on the Rivanna River where dogs (and people) can swim.
