Clean, convenient, and VERY dog-friendly!
Clarion Pointe CharlottesvilleFelt very comfortable here (have stayed many times in Charlottesville). The desk clerk gave the dogs a big smile every time they came through. The La Quinta is within walking distance of a Trader Joe's (and a Whole Foods, if you cross the highway); there's an all-night Harris Teeter about a mile away at Barracks Road Shopping Center. Only inconvenience is that the dog "rest area" is minimal--just a narrow strip around the parking lot. Closest area for a walk is McIntire Park, two miles away (leash required). Sadly, the city does not have any parks where dogs can go off leash. (Though there is a fenced off-leash area at Azalea Park on the south end of town.)
Excellent choice for Raleigh area
La Quinta by Wyndham Raleigh CrabtreeI don't get around to submitting a lot of reviews, but this was perhaps my best pet-traveling experience ever. As well, the hotel is very attractive inside and out--very clean, comfortable and elegant room layout, and some nice touches like the recessed entranceways. We had easy access to the outside, there was an immaculate little pet yard in back, but also a trail through public (?) woodland in back. We were within walking distance from the Crabtree Valley Mall and some excellent eateries (Panera for lunch and Seasons 52 for dinner). Looking forward to return visit.
