Perfect for pet travel

Extended Stay America Suites San Ramon Bishop Ranch East

Although there was some confusion on check-in (they didn't have a pet room reserved for me, but they found one - phew), the rest of the stay was pretty perfect. All the staff are very accommodating; the floors are not carpeted (yay - can never figure why pet rooms have carpet - too many "interesting" odors); lots of clean grassy areas to walk pets, nearby grocery, coffee, restaurants; plenty of safe parking, and quiet, despite close access to freeway. I'll definitely stay there again - just may call ahead to make sure they have a pet room available. Staff very friendly!

Walk by the river, doggie yard for canine guests

The Riverside Hotel BW Premier Collection

This was nearly perfect for travelling with my 2 energetic dogs. Pet friendly rooms that overlook the river have a fenced yard behind (still need leash though), making it easy for those early morning or late night potty breaks. The river walk behind is beautiful, and kept my two setters enthralled - birds, squirrels. Dogs are allowed throughout the public areas of the hotel, and room was large enough to easily handle their two crates. Inexpensive pet fee - one time per stay ($25/pet). Plus, Boise itself is a great place to explore with your dog(s). Would love to return some day!

Good location, smelly room

Adobe Inn

While this location is close to the beach, and the dogs had a fun run there early morning, the Adobe Inn is not a place I would return to. Arrived late (8:45 pm) for just a one night stay, was given keys, and very little information, so i assumed a doggie potty spot, etc., would be self explanatory. Wrong. Never did, in daylight, ever find a close place to walk dogs to do their business. The room was very old, carpet and furniture dirty/stained, the coffee for the coffee maker was outdated (so that's means it was probably 2 years old at least), and it smelled like the previous tenant had a dog that didn't have good control, or was left too long. Hard to sleep with the odor. I was tempted to see if something was left behind, under a table or something, but opted to just get up early, get the dogs to the beach, and make a note not to stay here again. Wonder what they use the $30/dog/night fee for - I'm sure it's not for extra cleaning.
We came back from the beach and a coffee stop, to find a maid in our room, with the door wide open, even though we were checking out shortly after. She didn't seem to know she was not supposed to clean before we checked out. Not very impressed. Too bad - it is a good location.
