Just okay

Pearl on the Concho SureStay Collection by Best Western

For a place that is supposed to be dog friendly, there was no place to take my dog out, but a huge parking lot. No grass, unless you walked out to the front, connect with a sidewalk, and then walk to a huge building next door.

At least there was no charge for my dog

Motel 6 Uvalde TX

Overall, I would have to say the room was subpar. The kingsize bed was comfortable, but each night (3 total) I tried to get into the room, the key did not work and I had to call the desk to get someone to come up and open the door. It took an extra 10-15 minutes when I desperately needed sleep. Also the parking lot was limited, since 2 huge tractor trailers covered up the 10 spaces in front of motel and nearest my room, so I had to park way in the back and carry my luggage up a flight of stairs in the complete length of the hotel (not an elevator in sight). Also the front of the Motel 6, where you would normally look for the lobby, had no signage to tell you the front desk/lobby was on the opposite of the motel. I had to call the desk and get someone to come outside to show me where to check in.

Aside from these problems, there was no hair dryer in the room (I was in town for a memorial service for my brother and my hair was just horrendous for all the family photos). Then, add the fact that there was no coffee in the room, and no shampoo or basic toiletries, and I was underwhelmed with the accommodations. Since it was $110 per night, it was almost highway robbery. It is a small town, but they have a long way to go before I will even think about staying there again. Next time, I could get a boarding kennel, and at least stay at a much nicer place.

Best customer service!

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pueblo North an IHG Hotel

Spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms, updated, well lit, and front desk personnel were so pleasant. Upon checking in, I had had a long and tiring trip and when the tv remote control did not work in my room, they immediately brought me a new one, and also a nice little gift bag with chocolate, popcorn, and herbal teas with a very nice note of apology. It has been years since I have had this level of service and I will be a customer from now on. My little dog loved the room too! Thanks, Holiday Inn Express!!!

Not that pet friendly

La Quinta by Wyndham Lubbock South

Was glad to find a place that took my small dog, but it was definitely not designed with dogs in mind. It was VERY difficult to find coming from the south at night. After making 3 wrong turns (with the help of Apple Maps), I finally arrived to find the entire parking lot paved or covered with landscape gravel and only a tiny little spot in the farthest corner of the parking lot with a few blades of grass. I had to walk from the lobby to the far end of the building multiiple times to unload my things and let my tiny little dog do her thing. It was like walking through a frigid wind tunnel. The back door would not accept my room key card, so had to walk to the other end of building to get in. The room and bedding had a chemical smell, but the bed was comfortable and free breakfast was good. This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this La Quinta and both were extremely disappointing. Another La Quinta in Dalhart was just as bad. Will now try to avoid them and will definitely never stay in Lubbock again.

Dog did fine, but my stay was not

La Quinta by Wyndham Dalhart

This is the first time I have used BringFido app, and was so excited when I was able to find hotel options quickly and easily. On a 1200 mile drive with a very late in the day start, I found a hotel with a reasonable rate and no pet fee. I arrived at about 12:30 am and checked in. I was not asked for any room preference, so I assumed I must have been too late to have a choice, but it took quite a while for the girl at the desk to find a room for me. Once I received a key card and had moved into our room (my dog only weighs 14 lb), I was able to get to bed about 1:15am. At 4:30am I was suddenly awakened by a loud banging exit door, which I was right next to. This was followed by many more, so it was impossible to sleep & I had to get up and get ready to drive another 800 miles. I had a few minutes to eat in the breakfast room and the selection was fair, but the sausage patties, that had obviously been, were missing. I went across the hall to ask the lady who had checked me in, if we could get more sausages to go with the eggs, and she told me, that "the lady who makes those it not here now and I do not know how.. this is the second time I have stayed at a La quinta hotel that I have been very unimpresed. They do not seen to value the customer. So not getting to sleep due to poor sound insulation in the rooms and especially the exit door, is one thing, but missing a huge part of my breakfast because someone was too lazy to come back in, or at least show the other employees what to do in a case like this. I had stayed at Nursanickle (Best Western) in Dalhart before, and they are just great with guests. Before getting the BringFido app, we used to stay with our labrador, and the room s were very comfortable & easy to get to when unloading your car (you did not have to go through the central part of the building while you are checking in. I will probably stay there next time. Other than a freight train that sometimes come through at night , everything is very peaceful and quiet. I will next time be willing to pay an extra fee for my dog. But as for the app, I am so appreciative of it. Many times I have been out on the road with my phone battery discharging, as I am put on multiple holds-----it is frightening. So BringFido is a great tool to help me navigate hotels. Bottom line: I suffered the most because I have sleep issues and being waked repeatedly from 4 in the am is not my idea of a quality hotel. I have a very bad opinion of LA Quinta, from the last times I have stayed there.
