Clean Room and Hotel

Homewood Suites by Hilton Las Vegas Airport

Both the hotel and the room were clean. There is a small kitchen with a refrig, microwave, small stove, cooking utensils and a pod coffee maker. We stayed for 2 nights and the pet fee was $50. For the quality of room, it was very reasonable. As mentioned in a couple of other reviews, there is no grassy area or fenced off area for your pup, but walking mine on a leash around the hotel was sufficient. There are poop bags located in one area, on the northwest corner of the parking lot. If staying in Vegas again, I would probably book here if I was bringing my dog. I have a golden retriever and he walked through almost all areas of the hotel without issue.

Fenced Pet Area

La Quinta by Wyndham Gallup

It was great having a small fenced in pet area where your dog could be off leash. The other 2 hotels we stayed at did not have such an area, so our dog had to be walked on leash everywhere. This hotel is located across the street from the train tracks. The trains come by quite frequently and can be heard even though our A/C was on and the windows are closed. The noise didn't wake me up once I did fall asleep, but it did make it difficult for me to do so. I'll add that my husband had no issue with the noise, so obviously it's effect will be different with different people.

Dog Poop on the Grass EVERYWHERE!

La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Costa Mesa Orange County

Beware of dog poop on the grass throughout the property. While I understand it's the dog owner(s') responsibility to pick up after their pets, (they do provide plastic bags on 1 portion of the property), with this hotel adding an additional $75 charge for a 2 night stay on my credit card when I checked in, they should have an employee picking up after the lazy people that haven't. BTW, this is on La Quinta's website "A current contact number must be left with the front desk and an optional pet fee may be charged at check-in ($20 per night for maximum of $40 per stay per room).”

The hotel is next to the 405 freeway, so there is quite a bit of traffic noise. If you're a light sleeper, good luck. The only reason it got 2 stars is because the room was clean even though pets are allowed.
