Great location on the Hudson River
Ice House on the HudsonWe enjoyed our dinner outside. The server brought us water for our dogs, and we had excellent service for our large party of seven plus two dogs. I would definitely go there again. I loved the mini fajitas!
Love the nearby dog park
Hampton Inn BensonVery clean hotel with a city dog park adjacent to the property! The only downfall was that it was very noisy all night long; people slamming doors, running down the hallways, jumping on the floor above us. Not the hotel's fault but it did make for a sleepless night.
Clean, quiet hotel
Comfort Inn & SuitesWe had a pleasant stay at this Comfort Inn. Very clean, great breakfast, pleasant staff. It's located near tons of restaurants and stores, too. Would definitely stay there again!
Clean hotel with great customer service
La Quinta by Wyndham ForsythWonderful, friendly staff and clean rooms! I would definitely come back to this hotel if traveling in the area again.
Large dog park with some shade
Franklin Dog ParkA large, mostly grassy dog park with shade trees, benches for the humans, and a water fountain for the dog. Friendly dogs and humans. Definitely check it out!
Very dog-friendly
CJ's GrilleA spacious outdoor porch with water bowls scattered about -- my dog felt right at home here! The food was good, too.
Great food and service
Anthony's Italian RestaurantWe enjoyed great food and service at Anthony's! They also brought a bowl of water for our basset hound, and the outdoor seating area is spacious and cool (thanks to the fans). Highly recommend!
Big, beautiful Bark Park!
Club Canine Bark ParkTucked in the city of Cornelia, this "Bark Park" was spacious and well-shaded - with a nearby train that kept my dog entertained. We only visited the large dog section. It was equipped with water bowls, hoses, benches, and lots of trees. Really nice dog park!
Make sure to hike to the falls
Moccasin Creek State ParkThe state park itself was full of campers, but the views of Lake Burton were nice. The highlight of our visit was hiking the Wildlife Trail and Hemlock Falls Trail. One of the best hikes we ever had! The trail is not too hard - some ups and downs- but we were able to navigate it all pretty well.
Lots of great hiking trails and overlooks
Black Rock Mountain State ParkThis state park has many trails to choose from! The Black Mountain Lake trail was my favorite for walking - beautiful views and an even (although muddy) walk. We also hiked to Ada-ha Falls - that was a challenge for the human but easy for the dog! Beautiful views all around. Highly recommend!
Take the Lake Trail
Rabun County Bark ParkIf your dog likes to go on hikes, be sure to take the Lake Trail. It's a short, mostly even hike around the lake and creeks. Wear bug spray, though!
