Decent Property at a Good Price

The manager on duty was very helpful finding a place to park our vehicle attached to a UHaul 8' trailer.
The property was well maintained in the common area and the room carpets were freshly cleaned. The room and bath were clean. There were health inspection warnings about the swimming pool but they had outside contractors working on it so the problem wasn't being ignored. The breakfast was standard and well prepared but no waffles! We go through Champaign/Urbana twice a year and this will be a regular stop for us!

Very Good Experience!

The evening clerk was welcoming and efficient and went over the pet fees and other details about our stay. The room was recently renovated and clean. Beds were comfortable and TV channel options excellent. The breakfast was standard fare but more than adequate. The cost of the room was at the high end of our budget but it was a good value. Very nice pet area.

Nice Stay

The room was clean and comfortable and conveniently located on the ground floor with easy access to the pet area. As others have mentioned they have a problem with patrons picking up their dog waste. People need to be more responsible. The breakfast was above average. It was all the usual hotel offerings but with some upgrades. They had hot oatmeal instead of instant packets. They had cut up strawberries and blueberries to go with cereal or yogurt. Check-in and checkout was efficient and the staff helpful and friendly. A good value. Also the rooms are set up with a mini-kitchen so it would be great for folks needing to stay for an extended time.

Clean, Would Come Back

Room was clean. Breakfast was standard motel fare. Not bad but not great. Staff on check in and checkout were fine. There is nice restaurant called "Aubrey's" across the parking lot from the motel and it was good food.

Good Experience

A little dated but clean. The breakfast was standard motel fare but was better than usual. For example they served Chobani Greek yogurt in decent portions as opposed to the tiny watery Yoplait or Dannon yogurt. The scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy and not rubbery as is often the case. A nice selection of fruit and sweet rolls. On check in and checkout the staff were efficient and pleasant. Would come back.

Okay value, dated facility

The staff was friendly and helpful. Like many La Quinta properties the place is showing its age and there are cosmetic damages (chipped plaster, paint splintered wood, etc.) that need attention. However public areas were clean. The room was also clean. The beds were comfortable but some of the linens were showing their age. They need to sort out their bath linens. My bath towel had stains. I am sure it had been well washed but more attention to stain removal was needed OR this towel needed to be thrown out.

The TV remote keys were "soft" making it difficult to get channels changed. Also the covering of the AC unit collapsed and fell off and crashed to the floor (exposing the rusted and corroded interior and aging wiring) and the thermostat was not fully functional and the fan speed could not be adjusted and so loud it had to be shut off at the power plug to get some quiet.

Finally NONE of the security doors were locked meaning "anyone" could just walk in any of the side doors. Usually this happens when the door lock systems aren't working but the key mechanism was fully functional so it was a management choice to allow the side entrances to be unlocked. On the other hand this seemed a relatively safe neighborhood... as far as I could tell. Breakfast was standard La Quinta breakfast bar.

Overall I would say that it could have been worse and I appreciate having a place to stay with pets. I felt I got my money's worth because the room rate was reasonable but I would not go out of my way to say here again.

The staff were very helpful. The young man who checked us in was great. We look forward to staying here in the future.

Clean and Comfortable

This place is a waste because the rooms have a kitchenette which isn't useful for an overnight stay.
The place was clean and following the CDC "guidelines" generally during this visit in the middle of the pandemic.
The nearby Okatie Ale House is a great place to eat (when fully upand running) but we usually order everything to go because pets are not to be left unattended in the Hotel.
The staff members were helpful and friendly on check in and check out.
The pet yard space is small but longer walks are possible around the hotel itself and it is a very safe area even walking about at night.

Friendly Helpful Staff Working in a Terrible Facility

This hotel has aged past its usefulness and needs an update. The location isn't great and the roar of the Interstate doesn't let up all night.
The room was clean enough but the floor in the bathroom was buckling from too much water flowing out of the handicapped shower onto the floor. There was no counter around the sink (to make it handicapped friendly) but a shelf could be hung so that toiletries can be set out.
The beds had NO firmness at all--- I can take a softer bed but this one sank in the middle.
Our visit came during the COVID-19 epidemic so there was no breakfast--- which is completely understandable.
The staff were very nice, friendly and generally helpful--- but I felt bad they were stuck having to work in this sad facility.
As always we appreciate La Quinta's pet friendliness and will continue to stay with them as our first choice--- just not at this one!
