It was okay, but not worth the price.

Big Bear Frontier

My sister and I decided to take our two dogs (one 13+ year old Siberian Husky and one 2 year old Great Pyrenees) to Big Bear to escape the chaos of 4th of July in the valley. For one night, the rate was high - even if it was a holiday - when the resort was clearly not full. The website boasts that the resort has been completely remodeled, but our unit came complete with a lamp with broken parts, a ceiling fan that made constant loud clicking noises, and a DVD player that only played in black and white (but the TV itself worked fine).
We walked the pups numerous times during our brief stay and I don't recall seeing any pet stations as noted on the website either. There are no screen doors on the units and no clear indication that there is no a/c when booking. It was very warm and opening the windows was just not enough when paired with the tiny ceiling fans. If the units had screen doors, it would allow much more cool air to circulate while keeping the pups indoors.
To top it off, our "neighbors" left their pup (totally allowed) in their unit while they left for several hours. The dog NEVER STOPPED BARKING the entire time they were gone. Very annoying.
While we will continue our plan of getting away for the 4th to try and protect our pups, I don't think we'll be returning to Big Bear Frontier any time soon. It's just not worth the cost.
