I like to travel with my little buddy and appreciate finding places that allow me to do so.

Great Food...Little Outdoor Seating, but You Can Be Creative
El ColumpioWe stopped here on our trip out west b/c we wanted to see the Corn Palace and get food at the same stop. The food was excellent, however there were only two outdoor tables and both were taken by a large party. This would normally cost a bone, BUT there is a Cabela's in the backyard that had a wide open field and a covered picnic area. We got our delicious food to go and walked about 100 yards to the covered area and enjoyed our meal with our little guy.
Very Easy and Clean
La Quinta by Wyndham Coeur d`AleneIt was a very easy check in and very clean hotel room.
Good Location, Somewhat Dated but Clean
Best Western Plus GranTree InnWhen we first arrived, we were a little concerned with what we got ourselves into, but the check-in was very easy and the room was very clean. The hotel is only two levels and spread out with several entry points which made it very easy to park close to our room and to take our dog outside. The only knock is that the entrance we used (door F) on the back of the building never locked (even when I was relieving my dog at 4 AM). Nothing happened, but having an unlocked, isolated entrance like that was a little unsettling.
Dog friendly and great location!
Hotel Alex Johnson Rapid City Curio Collection by HiltonYou can't beat this hotel's location. It is a recently renovated classic (supposedly haunted) hotel right in the heart of down. It is easily walking distance to a bunch of dog friendly restaurants (our favorite was Murphey's). We were able to choose our room online and selected 306 which 1.) made it very easy to use the stairs and 2.) was very isolated (while the gym was across the hall, there was only one other room on this floor). It is a little more expensive then some other hotels, but the location downtown is definitely worth it. Pro tip: parking does cost money, but it you are there over the weekend, meter spots are free Friday after 6 PM through Monday morning. We found a spot right across the street.
Nothing fancy...not taking COVID seriously
Stoney Creek Hotel Sioux CityThe hotel's location is decent close to downtown. Of all of the places we stayed on our way out west, this was by far our least favorite. While there were some signs posted, you would have had no idea that there was a global pandemic going on. The staff member working the front desk only pulled up her mask for me b/c I was wearing one and took it off after I walked away while working with other guests (most of which weren't wearing masks). The pool was also packed full of people/kids which was a little concerning. Hopefully, by the time you travel with your pup, COVID is a distant memory, but the town/state is not very dog friendly. I believe the state of Iowa does not allow dogs at restaurants, even outdoors. Sioux Falls is not too far away and South Dakota was far more dog friendly.
Easy to visit with dog!
Eastland Suites Hotel & Conference CenterI stayed here on my way out west with my pup. Check-in was incredibly easy. I normally don't like hotels with the external room entrances, but it actually made it way easier to take my dog outside. The rooms were very clean and they were taking COVID seriously. One caution, only the King Deluxe and King Loft (I think?) allow pets which this website doesn't make clear. I would suggest calling to make sure you get the correct room.
