Great trails

Nashotah Park

I love the trails here, lots of variety of difficulty & distance. Most of the trails are mulch & grass - no paved.
I walk my dog here year-round. In the winter it gets very icy in some parts, but still a great walk.

Downside is a lot of owners ignore rules and walk their dogs off leash on the trails. I've heard a lot of runners have problems with off leash dogs & I've had problems as well.
My dog was sick for a while and couldn't deal with other dogs so we'd walk the trail instead of going to the dog park. Off leash dogs would just run straight up to her and I'd have to pick her up to get away from them. Owners don't care.
Also have had issues with runner races here, and them yelling at us to get out of the way while walking the dog. I pay to use this park and don't see why their race should interrupt my walk.

Overall great park though, big picnic areas, lots of trails. Wish owners were more respectful, that's all.

Nice small park

Fox Brook Park

Very nice park, it's pretty small. The lap around the lake is only 1 mile. There is a doggy swim area that is gated so they can be off leash (I keep mine on leash because she will swim across the whole lake if she's off leash)
There is a dumb rule where you can't go in the water with your dog (even knee high or the lifeguard at the beach will yell at you).
Perfect area for nice social dogs that love to swim. May not be good for skittish or unfriendly dogs as its a pretty small area - so no escape from other dogs.

Great park

Nashotah Dog Park

We love this park, especially in the mornings when everyone and all the dogs are really chill.
Most people here are nice, once in a while you'll get crazies or people who don't pay attention, don't pick up after their dogs etc. But the majority are really nice and friendly. I have made a lot of friends here.
They recently expanded the large dog park & have an additional gated area which my dog LOVES. It is an optional expansion so if you're worried about ticks & poison ivy in the tall grass, you can opt to not go there.
It gets a little crazy in the afternoons when the dogs have too much energy, but the mornings are perfect.
