It was OK
Sonesta Simply Suites Fort WorthThe hotel is old, needs updating, and staff that enforces the rules. While the entire hotel is smoke free, the first floor hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. The room was clean, but everything from the bedding to the furniture is just old. In the plus column, the ability to leave my dog in the room unattended was handy. After all day at a car show, Buddy was wiped out, and napped while we went out for dinner.

Terrible Experience
Motel 6 Corpus Christi TX - NorthwestI reserved a non-smoking room, with fridge and microwave. Because I knew I'd be arriving late, I even called to confirm that it wouldn't be an issue. I was told I was all set. When I arrived I was told they had my reservation, but didn't have my room. No explanation. They just didn't have it. Because it was so late and I was tired, I agreed to take a smoking room without fridge and microwave, until the manager came in and could resolve the issue. The room I was given was an adjoining room. The couple in the adjoining room were shouting obscenities at one another, and at people in the parking lot. Calls to the front desk didn't resolve the issue. So just a couple hours after I arrived, I had to find another hotel on my own, and check out. I was promised a refund by the front desk attendant, but that had to go to BringFido, who would then refund me. Of course none of that could be done until the manager arrived later that day. 4 days later the hotel manager is not returning my calls.

Almost a park setting.
New Braunfels SmokehouseThe food was pretty good. There are a few covered tables along the building, but the gazebo across the parking lot is the way to go. It's surrounded on 3 sides by a big grassy areas, with a huge shade tree, and a place to dispose poo if needed.

No longer dog friendly
Longhorn CafeSaturday 7/7/18 we were looking for a new dog friendly place to eat. With rain in the area, I called ahead to confirm that they had covered outside seating. I was advised that they're no longer pet friendly, due to a recent incident.
