Irish bar and patio
Sully's Irish PubEnjoyed the visit. The bar can be a little rowdy and attracts a drinking crowd at times. 4 bones because smoking was allowed on the patio.
Large dog friendly outdoor space
The HandleBarWe sat on the lawn under an umbrella picnic table and had a great time! We enjoyed delicious burgers and craft local beers while the pup lounged at our feet. At one point, a staff member asked to take our photo to post on their social media promoting the dog friendly space.
Definitely dog friendly
Spearfish Canyon LodgeDogs are welcome nearly everywhere. They can join owners in the gift shop, bar/lounge, and on the front patio of the Lodge restaurant located across the street. Several dog-friendly hiking trails located very close to the property and the town of Spearfish is about 35 min away with several more options. The lodge sits on a good sized property with plenty of green space in addition to walking trails that are pet friendly.
The restaurant affiliated with the lodge is the only place to eat within about 30 min and thankfully the front patio welcomes dogs. The patio is small and so reservations are recommended. During our stay, service was very slow and the tables were located in the sun without umbrellas so be ware that it may be toasty.
Open later than most on Sunday
Sickies Garage Burgers & BrewsSickies Garage welcomes dogs on the patio. We were one of three pet families while there. Food and local craft beers were a nice touch. Restuarant is located around some big box stores and so there weren't great areas for walking or potty breaks. It is convenient to the interstate.
Biggest reason we stopped here, it was a Sunday evening and most other pet friendly places were already closed by the time of our arrival around 7pm. Many businesses are closed entirely or close early on Sunday in Rapid City
Convenient Location
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Rapid City SDWe spent 1 night at the Country Inn & Suites and it was a fine stay. We were passing through and it served the purpose that we needed for the evening. Location is accessible to the interstate but results in noisy and busy streets for walking the dog. Appears they had a recent renovation.
Great view - can be a little busy
Sioux Falls Overlook CafeGood view of the park from their patio. Dogs are allowed inside and outside which was surprising. We stopped for lunch on a Sunday and learned their food menu is quite limited to grab and go options only. The city park located on the property is beautiful but busy and can be a bit of a distraction for the pups.
Dog friendly patio with tasty food and beer
Spearfish Brewing CompanyWe visited on our trip to the Black Hills. The patio out front welcomes well-behaved dogs. At our time there, we were the third dog to arrive and we had a great experience. Good food and beer and quick service.
