Perfect lodging for us and our pup!
Made INN Vermont, an Urban Chic Boutique B&BWe absolutely loved our stay at Made Inn! Linda, the inn-keeper, was so welcoming to our dog and even provided us a list of recommended dog-friendly restaurants and attractions around Burlington. When we got up to our room, there was a whole spot of goodies just for Gordy - bowls, a new toy, a bag of treats, and a poop bag refill roll. She had no problem with us hanging out with him on the front porch or playing in the yard. Knowing that he was so welcome made our stay that much more relaxed and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!!
In terms of location, it was a very easy walk into the heart of downtown (maybe 10 minutes to the Church St. area and another 5 minutes on top of that to the Waterfront). Parking was also super convenient and free!
Dog friendly easy hike
Mt. Philo State ParkWe visited Mt. Philo while on vacation in Vermont. My dog loves hikes, so was very eager to get to the top. It's decently steep for a beginner hiker like me, but I would still put it in the easy range as long as you are willing to huff it a bit. There were lots of other dogs around to say hello to, all on leash. There was one pet waste station near the entrance to the trail, but then nothing, even when you got to the bathroom facilities at the top (so I had to carry the poop bag the whole way) - this is my only gripe about it. It took us just about 30 minutes up and the same back down. Highly recommend!
