No Fido, No Thank You!

Holiday Inn Express Breaux Bridge an IHG Hotel

I was evacuating from a hurricane with 2 dogs and 3 puppies. Before booking with BringFido, I called the hotel to make sure it was alright to stay there with the number of dogs I had with me. The Desk Clerk checked with the manager who said yes. When I arrived, I found the hotel had a mascot, a resident cat who lounged around the hotel on the tables and counters. The next morning I was awakened by the maid, who complained about the smell. She returned with the Front desk manager, who told me he was going to have to come in the room and look around. Even though I put plastic sheeting up to protect the walls and bedding, he said they could not allow me to stay the next night, even though I booked two nights. I explained to him that we had to sleep in the car the night before because my house was destroyed in the hurricane, and I did not have a chance to clean the dog kennel before we got to the hotel. I asked him to give me a few hours, and I could clean the kennel and use kitty litter instead of the wee wee pads, and the smell would go away. He gave me until 6 pm that evening. After cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, and changing the elimination method, I asked him if he could still smell anything. He said he was surprised, but he did walk down the hall and did not smell anything at all. I asked if I could stay the next day, he said to ask whoever was working in the morning. The next morning I called the front desk to ask if I could stay the next night. The desk clerk told me "No, I have someone else checking into that room, and I need to have the room deep cleaned." The hotel was not full, there were other rooms available.. I asked her if they had even checked to see if the smell was still there. She said no. She finally agreed to send the maid down to check. Two young ladies knocked on my door, and said they agreed, they did not smell anything. They said they would talk to the front desk. They finally agreed to let me stay another night. But I will not ever stay there again. I do understand that other guests may have been inconvenienced by the smell, but under the dire circumstances of evacuating from a category 4 hurricane that just destroyed my home, the added stress and unwelcome attitude will not soon be forgotten.

Great for dogs!

Red Roof Inn Dallas DFW Airport North

The room had microwave and refrigerator, and what I liked best was the floor was vinyl, not carpeted, so I did not have to worry about pet stains if my puppy had an accident. There were several large grassy areas for my dog to explore, and if I slept late and fido really had to go, there was grass strip next to the sidewalk right outside the door.
