We sprung for the kitchenette
Lakeview Inns & Suites - Fort NelsonThis was a nice room. I think the kitchenette was worth it for the night - especially driving during covid. It allowed us to have meals in our room with even less contact (we had a cooler full of stuff so this was worth it). The room had a good amount of space, and there were no problems having our dog with us.
Liked the hotel
Western Valley InnWe splurged for a room with a kitchenette at this hotel. It was definitely worth it during COVID/driving to Alaska. The hotel is pretty plain otherwise, but it does the trick. It's a "drive up" style (so room access is from the outside of the building). After many hotels this trip, we actually appreciated that feature! No hotel "bonuses" for dogs, but we had no issues.
Nice hotel
Baymont by Wyndham MinotThis was a really nice Baymont - privately owned. We were on the 4th floor. Nothing super special for pets, although they do have doo-bags at the front desk if needed.
Solid Hotel
Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre SaskatoonThis was an average hotel - nice bedding, nice staff. Very standard rooms. It's a great spot to stop driving through for a night. We only went to the room we were assigned, so I didn't see many other areas of the hotel. We were placed on the 6th floor with our dog.
Handling Covid well
Hampton Inn St. Louis ChesterfieldWe stayed one night as we passed through St. Louis. Love that they have no pet fee and the rooms were nice (very standard, but clean and well maintained). They even still had breakfast, but set up a custom order the night before (breakfast sandwiches) and the next morning have a grab and go station with your meal at the requested time.
Solid hotel.
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Minneapolis Bloomington WWe stayed one night, had no issues navigating the construction even with a trailer (looks like it is almost done). Our pet room was on the third floor which is a little bit of a bummer, but they might not even have 1st floor rooms in the building. All “extra” amenities were closed due to covid - so no breakfast, but they did have a little convenience store on premise. Rooms were standard hotel fare and clean.
Standard fare roadside hotel
Stay Inn & Suites MontgomeryWe stayed here passing through for one night. The price was a bit high for what we got when compared to other hotels in the area, but still cheap. There is nothing out of the way “special” in place for dogs - but we had no issues.
