Great little motel

Golden West Motel was a great find. Very friendly greeting by Luisa who is the owner. Very clean rooms and although it is an older property the rooms have been attractively maintained and renovated. Lots of nice touches. Huge grassy area for the pooch.

Beautiful location

Great location in the woods with access to the river trails right from the property! Spacious room. Nothing special provided for the pooch but that’s ok; not having to drive to the trails was special enough. Heater was very loud.

The Most Dog Friendly Ever!

Dog sheet for the bed, bowls, doggy bags. They even asked at check-in what our dog’s name is. The mailbox at the property entrance has a dog on it! Some of the info on this site about the lodging is outdated, though.

Very Dog Friendly

La Quinta is always a good choice because they are clean, have courteous staff, and they don’t charge a pet fee for just one dog. This location is fairly new and very nice. Only downside at the Page location is there is no grassy area for dogs. But, the value for the cost is quite good overall.

Great Room

The room was spacious and very clean. Comfy bed. Nice breakfast selection in the a.m. including hot dishes. Small grassy area for the pooch. Nice dog park less than a mile away. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice motel

Very clean rooms. Owner is super nice and helpful and obviously takes pride in the condition of this property. Grassy area out front for the pooch. Very dog friendly. Nice park about a mile away for the dog to run around.

Close to River Walk

We were given a pet room which apparently means fake wood floor instead of carpeting. I used a paper towel to clean up some food crumbs I spilled and judging by the grime on the paper towel I am guessing they don’t regularly mop the floor. Also, the place was practically empty and they put another traveler in the room right above us. Seriously?

On the positive side, we got a room at the back of the building instead of one on the street. And, it is only a block away from the River Walk which was great for walking our pooch. Also, nice grassy place across the street for potty breaks.

Manager was helpful and nice and he was wearing a mask which I appreciated.
