Awful!

Wingate by Wyndham Youngstown - Austintown

My dog and I just stayed here on Saturday night, July 28. It was not a pleasant experience. When we checked in I reminded the man who checked us in that we had reserved a room on the first floor. I was told there were no rooms on the first floor because of meeting rooms, the pool and the exercise room. We were given accommodations on the second floor. I noticed that there were rooms on the first floor because I saw people going in and out of them. I have a senior Golden who is petrified of the elevator and struggles with the steps.
There is a pet fee of $25 because I was told of all the extra cleaning that must be done for a dog. When I opened the door to the room I could not believe my eyes. The rug was filthy and full of stains! I ended up putting towels on the carpet just to have a path to walk on to get away from the filth and have an area free of stains for my dog to sleep on. When I checked out on Sunday morning I was one of three people who were complaining about the cleanliness of this place. It was also noted that the plates and silverware at breakfast had caked on food on them.
The young woman at the front desk was very nice, but had her hands full fielding all these complaints before 7:00 AM. This was a very disappointing experience especially after all the La Quinta's we stayed at that were wonderful and clean! There are other hotels in this area...stay there!
