Nice place

We used to stay at Hampton Inn until the started charging $75 per pet, made their cancellation policy very strict, and increased their rates! This location is clean & up to date. Rooms are well-appointed, baths clean & modern. The towels are actually FLUFFY & soft. The breakfast area is sunny & commodious with the usual offerings. Room rate: $124+ tax and a $20 Pet Fee. Much more reasonable. Beds were excellent! Ladies at front desk very friendly. Stay here!

Great spot for pets!

The hotel is in the process of a major upgrade. It didn’t interfere with our stay, but everything was a little tired. The receptionist was super nice & a true dog person. She greeted everyone’s dog upon check in. We loved that. The beds & pillows were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the pet area was littered with dog poop, in spite of there being a station with poop bags & a poop receptacle. Bad dog owners, but the hotel should clean that area periodically & make owners aware that poop must be picked up. I found a great seafood restaurant about 6 mi. away. Miramar was the name. This is not fried seafood, but wonderfully prepared fresh. I had half a dozen oysters that were small & super tasty. Great place for dinner or just small plates. Would def stay here again.

Great stay!

We really like this hotel. The staff is super welcoming & friendly. Rooms are large & well-appointed. Large bath with huge vanity (love!). They have a nice Happy Hour: meatballs, Mac & cheese, cheese & crackers, wine & freshly made cookies. The comfy & homey lobby area has a fireplace & it’s so nice to just sit, eat & relax after a long drive.

The only reason for the 4 bones: the carpet is tired & looks dirty, the chairs outside the elevator are tattered & the new coverlets on the beds are scratchy. They look lovely, but they triple as a spread, blanket & top sheet, so no options. The shade on the floor lamp is coming apart. We’ve stayed here before & will again, especially bc breakfast doesn’t end til 10am! Most other hotels quit at 9 or 9:30-not my jam😉

Avoid

This hotel is quite old & needs a serious overhaul. Our room smelled bad (cigarettes?) and running the a/c improved it very little. The entire hotel smelled old & unclean. There were hairs on the floor near the tub, the faucet was reversed so if you turned to cold, you got hot. The breakfast was poor. Someone’s dog had pooped in the lobby. I told the day clerk and he said, “Oh, that’s too bad.”. An hour later, the poop was still there. Honestly, spend the extra money & stay at the Hampton Inn across the street. It’s a $100 more, but definitely far better than this place.

Good location

This hotel was close to a Kroger & a funky steakhouse where we had dinner. The hotel was a mixed bag: no fan in the bath & the door didn’t close. Beds were fine.
