Bowser is a 3-year-old hound mutt from Tennessee. Maybe plott hound/ beagle?

Tented with tent walls

Portland Lobster Company

We ate dinner here on Wednesday 8/1/18. You order and pay at the indoor counter before walking to the back bar/tent area to be seated. A live band was playing at the bar, which my dog didn't particularly like. We lucked out and were seated at the second-to-last picnic table at the far end of the tent. Bowser had room to hang out under the picnic table. The best part about this place was that the seating is under a tent with durable clear sides. It was raining steadily during our only night in Portland, but this place made it possible to still go out with the pup! We enjoyed calamari, scallops, and lobster mac and cheese.

Late lunch 7/31/18

Jordan Pond House

The two of us brought Bowser to Jordon Pond House on Tuesday, 7/31 for a late lunch after hiking the Jordon Pond Path. It was nice having this to look forward to during our hike. We had to wait 10 minutes before we were seated at a wooden table under an umbrella on the lawn. Bowser had plenty of room to stretch out in the shady grass under the table. When we went, the lawn area was experiencing a good amount of yellow jacket bees, which the restaurant made clear to visitors via signage and a verbal reminder. The bees were only interested in our jam, for which the waitress brought a cover. We enjoyed our popovers with jam and butter, a cesar salad, and plenty of ice cold water. The atmosphere is gorgeous and the food hit the spot!

Drinks Tuesday 7/31/18

Blaze

We brought Bowser with us to sit at the patio bar, which runs along and is open to the beginning of the adjacent side street. We enjoyed craft draft beers and were served by a knowledgeable bartender. It was a nice shady spot less crowded than the places toward the water.

Dinner 7/31/18

Stewman's Lobster Pound Downtown

We visited with Bowser on Tuesday evening, 7/31/18. The host brought us to our seat and was considerate to ask if we preferred a shadier table. Once a table was identified, the host also confirmed that we were okay being seated at a table next to another dog. Bowser made a new friend Clifford! There was plenty of space under and around the picnic tables for the doggo to chill. Our waiter brought over a disposable bowl of water for the pup as well. We enjoyed frozen strawberry daiquiris, lobster crab cake, chicken fingers, fries, and steamers. All delish!
