Now Charging Pet Fees?

La Quinta by Wyndham Houston Channelview

Stayed here for one night while driving across the country. Check-in was quick and painless, associate was polite and friendly. However, he informed me that all La Quinta's nationwide had just begun charging $40-$50 pet fees per night but that he would "waive" it for me. I told him that was good, because the only reason I stay at La Quinta is because they don't charge pet fees. The La Quinta where I stayed the following night made no mention of this and did not charge anything.

The Deluxe King Suite was spacious and clean. However, the TV didn't work, and the bed sheets felt like they were made of sandpaper. Fridge was nice and large but did not have a freezer compartment (as other La Quinta locations offer).

Plenty of space outside to walk the dogs. "Free" breakfast was underwhelming but understandable during covid. Not sure I would stay here again, but I did have a decent stay.

Excellent Stop for a Quick Stay

La Quinta by Wyndham El Paso East

Stayed here for one night in a King Executive room while driving through El Paso. Staff was polite and friendly, check-in/checkout took less than a minute. Room was clean and comfortable. Fridge was large (about 36" high) and included a small freezer cabinet. Microwave worked great for reheating leftovers. TV included Showtime channels. Shower was hot with good water pressure. No breakfast provided during COVID but that's to be expected. Dedicated grassy spots for the dog to use. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. For $65 + tax it was an excellent deal. Only issue was the 20" TV is not really watchable laying in bed 15 feet away, and the screen was too dark. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm driving through!

Good Stay for a Quick Stop

La Quinta by Wyndham Mobile

Only stayed here for one night in a standard King room while driving through Mobile. Staff was friendly and polite, lobby was clean, and check-in/checkout took less than a minute. $100 price tag is a bit steep for the size of the room, and the small refrigerator did not have a freezer. No breakfast provided during COVID, which is understandable. Hand sanitizer mounts in the elevators were all empty. Shower took a full 2 minutes to get hot water but was great once it got there. No grassy spots for the dog to relieve himself but he made do with the neighboring properties. Bed was clean and comfortable, and the microwave was very much appreciated for re-heating leftovers. Would stay again but only if the price was 15-20% lower.
