Miscommunication somewhere!
La Quinta by Wyndham Raleigh CaryWe drove 9 hours from FL on our way to upstate PA and stopped here for the night. Upon check-in, I was asked the weight of our dogs. When I told them 60 and 90 pounds, I was advised they have a 50-pound weight limit, and would likely not be able to let us stay. I told the desk clerk I was NOT informed before, and it being late and our being exhausted from the long drive, they better make an exception for the 1 night we were staying or find us somewhere else to stay at a comparable rate. The clerk checked with her Manager, who hesitantly DID approve our stay. But this whole scenario could have been avoided if proper communication channels had been followed. The room was lovely and we had no other complaints, but traveling with 2 large dogs limits our options, and this was quite upsetting to us.

Would have been nice to be told!
Red Roof Inn Roanoke RapidsWe checked in for one night on our way home to FL from PA with a new puppy and our 2 large adult dogs. The desk clerk checked us in and advised that access to our room was through the lobby. Traveling with 3 days, including the puppy, we had to make several trips outside for potty breaks overnight, each time having to go down the long hallway through the lobby. Finally, the morning we were leaving, I mentioned to my husband that there was an exit door much closer to our room, and wondered why we couldn't use it. He checked and was told yes, we could have used that door. WHY DIDN'T THE CLERK LET US KNOW THAT UPON CHECK IN?? Would have saved SO many steps, especially carrying a nearly 20 pound puppy who was being carried to avoid picking up parvo or any other virus, since not yet fully vaccinated!! Guess the conversation between co-workers at the front desk upon our arrival was more important!
