Wieners for a wiener dog
Sebastian Train DepotMet my sister and her dog at Captain Forster Hammock Preserve for a nice walk and to let our dogs get some play time together. After we decided to have lunch at a dog-friendly place, and came upon the Sebastian Train Depot. What a great place to get a tasty hotdog (and they have other sandwiches, all of which looked really good). The have outdoor picnic tables where we could all eat. There is also a water bowl on the deck for the dogs. We asked if we could get a plain hotdog for the pups, and they prepared one for us. If you're not looking for a hearty meal, but a good sandwich or hotdog lunch, and you have your pup with you, this is a great place. Reasonably priced too.

Nice visit
Captain Forster Hammock PreserveI live in Melbourne, and my sister lives in Vero, so we decided to meet with our dogs midway. OK, close to midway. We had a very pleasant walk here. The dogs really enjoyed it. Nice trails, but I can see it would be a mess if there had been a recent rainfall. But, without any recent rain, it was very nice. Shaded so it wasn't too hot. Finished up driving to Sebastian to eat a nice late lunch at dog-friendly Sebastian Train Depot.

A nice trail, but watch out for the gators
Ritch Grissom Memorial WetlandsMy 2 yr old dachshund enjoyed his walk here. There are a lot of birds to see, and also alligators. We saw four, one in the water, three sunning themselves along the water's edge, near the trail. It got a little spooky seeing them (one was kind of small, one big, and one a monster), and thankfully Yogi paid no attention to them and didn't start barking. I did pick him up when we saw the monster. But, although there are gators and snakes (although we saw none of those) it's a nice place to take Fido for a good walk.

Nice park
Wickham Dog ParkI have been taking my 2 year old dachshund here for over a year now. It's a nice park and he really enjoys running around with the other small dogs. Fortunately, we have not encountered any of the rude people mentioned in other reviews, but I understand how that could affect one's attitude about it. As it is, we will continue going there.
