Great spot and delicious
BeerworksWe were seated on a covered patio (good for rainy days with a pup!) And there was no issue with having our 12# mini poodle along. They were understaffed and definitely working really hard, so I'd recommend getting there early to beat the rush because they turned people away even with open tables. Beer was awesome!
Comfortable stay
White Birches MotelThe rooms were nice for a budget hotel, the floors weren't carpet which my older dog didn't love but I much prefer. The decor was cute, the beds comfortable AND the mattresses were wrapped completely. Microwave and fridge. Pet fee is for the whole stay not each night. We had an issue with our keys when we arrived and I was impressed with how quickly someone arrived to reprogram them. One bone taken away because the office wasn't open much, even during their open hours, the shower drained really slowly, and the air conditioning struggled.
Delicious!
Trenton Bridge Lobster PoundThe food was wonderful and the outdoor seating was plentiful. There's open picnic tables and a screen tent making this a good place if you need a meal and it's also raining. The staff came and said hi to the pup and chatted. Very friendly!
Beautiful grounds for your pup
Cedar Hill LodgePros: Great location, large beautiful grounds for the dog to run and poop or for the family to play. Reception area was welcoming and there was a cute little shop. Simple grab and go breakfasts. Beds were comfortable and water was hot. The carpet was already stained so I wasn't worried about my dog (not that I was to begin with.) Pool seemed nice but unfortunately was closed. Lake views. Cons: Rooms were underwhelming to say they least, linens were clean but I found a couple stains. Walls were thin. Inadequate parking. Shower didn't drain well and the screen door was broken. Price was right for a summer weekend in the area for the quality of the rooms.
Great for rainy days!
Mackinac Island Carriage ToursIt was pouring when we arrived and the carriage rides are covered and have screens on the side and are PET FRIENDLY! They prefer to have dogs in the back row to give space from the horses. The guides were informative and had lots of terrible jokes to tell! There's a stop in the middle with concessions and shops and dogs can go wherever you go up there except the butterfly house. The second half went through the state park to Arch Rock and was very peaceful when the rain stopped. We definitely had fun! (Our pup is a 12lb mini poodle but there was a bigger pup on board too, probably 40lbs?)
Pups on board!
Shepler's FerryThis was a very comfortable ride and our lap dog was welcomed on board. Ample parking from St. Ignace.
