First post-COVID hotel stay

Carmel Country Inn

The hotel was cute and definitely in a good location. I do find myself struggling with paying more, or the same for less though, at this hotel, other hotels or in restaurants. There was no room cleaning service so since we had been at the beach, the jacuzzi tub was only enjoyed on the first night. Breakfast was limited to just a few items and simple things like bananas were out of stock on our last day. Since there was no room cleaning service we had to bring our breakfast dirty dishes back to the lobby on our own or leave them in the room overnight. I kind of wanted to get away from housekeeping so that part was not so enjoyable. Also, the hotel claimed they did not clean the room while we were there for the safety of the guests and staff, but when someone cleaned the room next door his mask was pulled down around his chin and the front door was wide open; just did not feel aligned with the message. Not really sure if I would stay there again. On the plus side, the front desk staff was VERY nice.
