Great location but front desk service was underwhelming
Holiday Inn Express Fredericksburg Southpoint an IHG HotelI reserved a room for one night through BringFido since my dog traveled with me. The BringFido customer rep was wonderful and she even called the hotel in advance to make sure it reserved a dog-friendly room for me.
When I arrived after 11 hours on the road, the person working at the front desk of the hotel said that the room wasn’t reserved and that they had to upgrade me. Although the front desk person wasn’t rude, she said that BringFido called Holiday Inn’s central location, not that specific hotel. She then told me the upgrade would only cost $1.
Well, I accepted the mishap but the hotel ended up charging me $9 extra for the upgrade. I also later found out that, indeed, BringFido spoke directly to that hotel’s front desk. Needless to say, I was not pleased with the front desk’s customer service - unapologetic at best, duplicitous at worst.
Overall, my room was Spartan and neat, although outdated. What I thought were blood stains in the bathtub was rust. The breakfast, though, was excellent and its staff was so very kind.
In the future, I would stay at another hotel for an overnight visit. It wasn’t worth the money or aggravation.
