Great views
Whitewater PreserveThis hike travels part of the Pacific Crest Trail as it climbs out of Whitewater canyon. It is a moderately strenuous climb, but not very long. The trail is rocky and narrow. If your dog has tender feet and if it is hot, it couldbe a problem. Spotted a smart hiker with booties on their dog. It was 78F when we hiked and that was perfect. The views are beautiful from the top of the ridge. The river is a huge bonus - our dogs appreciated the dip before and after the hike. The visitors center area is another plus- restrooms, a monitored parking lot, maps and a shaded picnic area. The center itself is currently closed due to the pandemic, but the rest is open.
