Nicer than it looks
Red Lion Inn & Suites Kennewick Tri-CitiesThere aren’t any frills but it is clean and in good shape. The room was large. The tv worked. The floors are LVP and in good condition. The only downside was the shower is not in good condition. Maybe not mold, perhaps rust, and swollen wallboard from either an old leak or an ongoing leak. No bueno because it hasn’t been repaired before now.
Nice folks here
Bavarian Inn Black HillsThe rooms are like a 60’s motel. Not much updating. Not particularly clean, but there are worse places nearby!
Decent room and a milk bone
La Quinta by Wyndham Sioux FallsThe room was above average for the price point. The dog area however was a landline of large dog turds of various ages. Clearly the hotel does not do maintenance there.
Ok.
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Sandusky SouthNot much to tell. It met basic requirements for people and pet. The bed was adequate. The floors vinyl plank, a step up from nasty stained old print carpet, but still sticky. There have been cheap fixes to a worn out building and those aren’t holding up. Again, it was adequate.
Nice hotel
Sheraton Ottawa HotelIt was a very nice place to stay. Staff was super helpful. Downtown on any large city is somewhat awkward with a dog. Finding grassy areas or parks is at issue here. There’s nothing. Parking is valet and it’s just a trudge to get the car, take pooch to the park or go to a restaurant or whatever. It’s not the hotel’s fault; it just is what it is. We just had a different routine while here.
Lovely hotel perfectly situated in the Old City
Hotel Chateau BellevueThe hotel is a beautiful example of old Quebec: gracious and spacious. The updates are nice and the staff even nicer! One of our favorite stays during our two week drive thru Canada. Merci Hotel Chateau Bellevue!
Certainly not great
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham DuluthBut not awful. This hotel is tired and going downhill FAST. They, as a chain, were our go to hotel 5 years ago. Today, at least this one, was super disappointing. 2 small milk ones was the doggy treat. Yes, at least there was one. The room was dingy, the laminate peeling off the furniture, the rug worn out, the bathroom, well, let’s not go there. Now, they are on par with the Super 8’s and Motel 6’s. But higher priced.
Room too small for dog bed
Delta Hotels by Marriott WaterlooReally nice room, just tight for 2 people and a large dog. So we had to share our bed with him. Beautiful neighborhood for dog walks-that doesn’t happen often! Convenient to restaurants. I’d highly recommend this hotel. Especially for the two leggeds!
Creepy place, and no dog awareness
Mere HotelChose an upgraded room, receive confirmation, then be assigned the worst room in the place. “Dogs aren’t allowed in the room you chose." But yet… I paid more and they could/would not refund the difference. I was comped the $16 parking fee for the $35 difference in room price. The panhandlers and homeless met us at the back door where we had to unload our luggage…in the unsecured dirt lot. I would never stay there again. Not ever.
Meh, nothing special
The Hotel Saskatchewan Autograph CollectionThe hotel is beautiful: old and elegant. Our room was a European postage stamp. Try fitting a large dog in that. With a bed do he doesn’t heave hair on the precious top sheet that is supposed to pass as a duvet. On our arrival, the panhandlers met us in the private parking lot outside the hotels baggage entry way. Very uncomfortable. On the up side, once we were inside, we felt safe. The entry doors open with the card key. The elevator goes up with the card key. And of course the card key gave us access to our tiny room.
No Dog Anything
Sandman Hotel & Suites KelownaThis place is a dump and smells like an old ashtray. The room was not particularly clean to start with and there was a lot of deferred maintenance in the room and on the property. $250 damage deposit. Will never go back there.
Sweet deal for the dog
Gunnison InnThe owner of this motel is a dog lover and it shows. He’s not so fond of the people who arrive with their dogs! I read reviews from others about how they were treated and I discounted them. Until…my husband, following the motel’s instructions, went to the office to ask for ice. The owner came out from his apartment shirtless and yelled at him for disturbing his morning. Told him if he wanted ice to go buy a bag across the street. It was a very bizarre encounter. The price was very low for the night. The room looked decent. The building is older but well maintained. The AC worked. The bathroom was a handyman nightmare; it was a wreck. The best part: the bed was so comfortable and crisp-clean I could have stayed longer! So I don’t know how to rate this! The good was very good - the bad was ugly. 🤨
Excellent
Motel 6 Missoula MTClean. Small. Clean. Good dog area. Clean. I would look for a place like this again and again.
Easy in and out
Sundance MotelThe Sundance is one story, so very easy in and out for pups and their people. Decent area for walking if that’s your thing. Super nice staff. The room was pretty clean - our dog found lots of things to sniff, so prior dog evidence abounds. Not unexpected but the air fresheners covered doggy odors for the people only. Overall, we’d stay there again - the walls were well sound proofed and the bed comfortable.
