Would give five bones if it were not for the Chick-Fil-A in the parking lot
Extended Stay America Suites Salt Lake City Sugar HouseComing into this location in the evening was difficult as the line of cars for Chick-Fil-A went around the block. Once I got in, there were no spots to park, turns out Chick-Fil-A patrons were parking in the hotel lot as the drive through wrapped around an empty Chick-Fil-A parking lot, preventing their customers from parking in their own lot. There is a parking garage, but if you have things on your roof (I did) or a trailer, that is not an option. So I waited for a Cichk-Fil-A patron to leave and took that spot. Knowing full well that the rest of the evening people would be coming and going around my car. The room itself was great. Good price, allows large dogs, was on the back side so not overlooking the scene at Chick-Fil-A, but instead a small park and another hotel or similar building across the park. Everything I needed once I got checked in.
It was fine
Super 8 by Wyndham Lynchburg VAWe were on the second floor, which was fine for my dogs, but not all. Way better than other Super 8s I have stayed at on this trip.
An old school motel, which is ideal for dogs
Travelodge by Wyndham MansfieldWe were able to park right in front of the room, making transferring the dogs and their belongings a breeze. The room had a scent of whatever cleaning products they use, but not too bad. The worst thing was the leather chair that was sewn too airtight, meaning it let out a sigh every time I sat on it. The dogs were entertained though.
Where to start
La Quinta by Wyndham Denver Englewood Tech CtrHere were the issues: hallway carpets hadn’t been vacuumed recently, covered in visible debris throughout, room had a strong perfume that seemed to be covering something up, but I couldn’t place it. Tub was plastic and had been repainted, and was not firm to stand on. The room HVAC was also very loud as it cycled on and off. Unrelated to the rating, another guest was smoking in an elevator, causing the smoke alarm to sound around midnight. We all had to wait for the fire department to turn it off. The staff handled it well, and were actually very accommodating to everyone. Maintenance and cleaning were the only issues.
Bumpy mattress, paper thin ceiling
Best Western Plus Wendover InnWas on the second floor and could hear the person above repeatedly walking to the bathroom and running water. The place was fully booked, so there were no good remedies.
