Great location for dogs!

Highway Inn

This little hotel is so cute. They’ve been doing a lot of work to the hotel and it’s paying off! The man running the front desk was very nice and the office smelled really good! The rooms were very large and spacious. Very pet friendly. There’s a nice large grassy area alongside and behind the hotel. The wrap around parking lot also made it very easy for our uhual truck and car trailer to pull through and park. It’s a little distance off of the highway but it’s definitely worth going to!

Comfy beds, small rooms

Super 8 by Wyndham Hays KS

This hotel was kind of a pain to use with dogs. There’s a lot of trash outside in the “grassy area” where you walk your dogs. Someone kept leaving their food and garbage outside of the side entrance door making it extremely difficult to get the dogs outside. The rooms are very small so if you have large dogs I would avoid this hotel. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was extremely disappointing.

Awful experience

Red Roof Inn & Suites Hazleton

Not even worth it to avoid a pet fee. Were do I even begin. When I made the reservation I requested a first floor room being we had 4 dogs with us and two are seniors that don’t do stairs well. When I arrived they had us in a second floor and the front desk made it feel like it was an inconvenience to move me to a room I suggested. Upon arrival info the room, housekeeping left the heat at its highest point where j could barley breath because of how hot it was. I tried turning the AC on to cool it down but the AC wouldn’t work. When we laid in bed we were immediately disturbed by the springs in the bed poking into our sides. The floors haven’t been mopped since they were put in.

I took a baby wipe and wiped the floor once and it was literally black. I did the same thing in a corner (non traffic area) and it was just as gross. The refrigerator was broken. One of our dogs kept finding trash and papers from under the bed (room was no cleaned well) we were then woken up at 3 am to our neighbors revving their Diesel engine trucks. Finally got back to sleep and were then woken at 9 am to housekeeping being very loud outside of our bedroom window. I asked them to keep their voices down while taking 2 dogs out to pee and they ignored me. When I took the other 2 dogs out I told them again that my husband was still sleeping and asked them to keep their voices down and the one guy (who I later found out was the owner) just walked away without saying anything.

I then went to the office to tell them about my experience to give my husband a chance to rest (mind you it’s 9:30 at this point and check out isn’t until 11) while I was away housekeeping knocked on the door and then ENTERED OUR ROOM even after I had just told them there was someone in there sleeping. The manager argued with me and told me they needed to do “an inspection” of the room before refunding me anything. They weren’t willing to help us in anyway. They tried to tell me the floors were dirty because of our dogs, even though it was completely bone dry outside and the ground was frozen. We honestly left this hotel even more exhausted then when we arrived. It really isn’t worth it. The hotel itself looks very ghetto and I wouldn’t feel safe staying there alone. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother with this hotel.
