Nice trails, beautiful museum
Clark Art InstituteGreat place to walk with the dog while hubby visited this gem of a museum, then we flip-flopped. Paper and posted maps of trail network made navigation easy.

Beautiful day out
Monhegan Island trailsWe took the Monhegan Boat Line ferry (make reservations in summer!) with our dog, and had a wonderful day hiking the trails and enjoying the oceans views. Our pups loved it! Be sure to buy a trail map at the Monhegan dock and bring poop bags.

Watch your step
Rockland Breakwater LighthouseAside from the gaps and crevices between the large granite blocks, this was a nice walk for both us and our small dog. Just watch your feet

The park and beach are small
Owls Head State ParkThe lighthouse area doesn’t allow dogs. The park and beach are very small.

Off-leash fun on the beach
Laite Memorial BeachThis beach in popular Camden is a great place for dogs to meet up, run on a sandy beach and play in quieter waters. Picnic tables and toilets available for the humans. Just be aware of the permissible hours for dogs.
