Uncomfortable bed, unfriendly staff
Sleep Inn StauntonThe bed I got was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. When I got there it was storming and it was made implicitly clear that my dog was not to be left in the room at all. I asked about the breakfast area (even the most friendly of dog hotels usually ask you to steer your pup clear of the breakfast area) and I was met with such snark about maybe they would allow her to be in her room alone for 10 minutes or so.

Amazing staff
La Quinta by Wyndham Winston-SalemThis place is perfectly located, and the staff is amazing. I felt so welcomed to my new city.
