Excellent stay, convenient location, friendly staff

Traveling with a friend and one of my dogs, we went to check into a nearby hotel that we had a reservation with as it was "dog friendly." However, when we arrived we were told they were only service dog friendly. We had just driven 14 hours straight and were exhausted. I quickly tapped into the BringFido site and La Quinta in Kennesaw came up - so we booked right there in the lobby of the other hotel, pretty much site unseen.

La Quinta was recently remodeled and it was both beautiful and clean. The staff was super friendly. We got checked (they even allowed us to check in quite early) in quickly and headed to our room - but as soon as we opened the door we were hit with the heavy odor of cigarette smoke. La Quinta is a non-smoking facility, so we promptly turned around and returned to the front desk, where they apologized profusely and quickly set us up in another room without even checking the condition of the first room. If we end up in the area again, I would stay at La Quinta in Kennesaw in a heartbeat, even if I didn't have any pups with me.
