Currency issue

It was not obvious what currency the hotel was charged in. The only currency denomination visible on the web page was CD as I was booking a room in Ottawa Canada. There was no reason to question that the hotel room was also not in Canadian dollars. Also when I received my conformation email it did not indicate what the currency denomination was. However, when my visa was charged it was significantly higher than what was indicated and upon investigating with BringFido that the website was US dollars and you have to click a tiny link at the bottom of the last page to find that out.
