The best dog park in Northeast Ohio

Dog Park at Carolyn Ludwig Mugrage Park

After reading reviews of this park, I absolutely knew I HAD to take a visit. My dal had a bad encounter at a different park so we've been looking for somwhere else to go. This is about a 40 minute drive from our house but well worth it for a visit once a week or so. In addition to the well landscaped grass and mulch paths, this place is HUGE. It is 7-acres, split for large and small dogs, and also includes some wooded paths (I measured it at about a half mile or so around one loop?) It's fantastic, my boy wanted to run and run and run, which is exactly what he needs and doesn't get at other nearby dog parks. I only hope that maybe neighboring counties would consider replicating something like it so that we had something closer. But like I said, it's worth the drive for how great of a park it is!

Good week-long stay

Ashley Quarters Hotel

I stayed for about 8 days in October 2020 in a room with a king sized bed, kitchenette and full bath. Everything was clean when I arrived. Older reviews of this place say you need to pick up a physical key for your room, but I used a key-card the entire time I was there, so this must be recently updated.
Due to COVID, the continental breakfast was closed, but I was unexpectedly surprised two mornings while I was there by a large bag of breakfast treats and other snacks. It was nice to see the staff was still trying to make sure that guests had what they needed!

The hotel is at the front of a shopping plaza and was having some work done on the parking lot, which was a little tricky. There is also no luggage cart, but the staff instructed me to use the laundry cart to get my belongings from my car to my room. The hotel is also pet friendly! My dog and I enjoyed the accommodations, but be warned that there are not a lot of sidewalks in the area if you need to take your pet for a stroll. We ended up doing a loop around the back-side of the shopping plaza just to get some distance in each day. Overall, I would recommend this place! I could see how some minor improvements here and there would really take this hotel up a notch or two, but I have zero complaints about anything!

Decent for one overnight

Super 8 by Wyndham Grove City

I regularly visit family friends in Grove City and am not able to stay overnight with my dog when I see them. This Super 8 is pet friendly and has given me a nearby place to sleep in a pinch. There is a nice lawn to the side of the hotel for potty breaks if need-be. Others have said there are hiking trails nearby, but I admittedly have not explored them. The hotel itself is fine. Clearly a bit dated, and with the area being built up, it's a little surprising more updates have not been made. But for the price, I can't complain. 3.5/5
