Great for a quick overnight

Warm reception at the desk, clean room and just what we needed to land for the night as we travel from NJ to Key West! Bed was comfy, plenty of towels. Rug is clean but needs to be replaced. Coffee and simple breakfast in the lobby. Laundry facilities available. Grateful to find a decent stay with our pup. Thanks!

Great location, but...

First, the good news - the location of the Inn at Cemetery Hill was great. Right in the center of town, walkable to restaurants, bars and shops. A quick hop by car to the Gettysburg museum and National Cemetery. (Be sure to check out the movie, museum and auto tour!) Room was clean and fairly spacious. Not a lot of doggy outdoor space, but we made it work.

The bad news - no internet at all in our room, wonky TV service (needed front desk guy to come to the room to figure it out), and loud traffic noise. Mini fridge was so cold that it froze everything and made a can of beer explode, so I was scrubbing it as we were trying to get ready to leave.

Coffee and grab-and-go breakfast in lobby was ok, but very limited. Still using Covid as an excuse not to have a their advertised "American Breakfast."

A Step Back in Time

The reasoning behind my rating:
1) This property is old and dated
2) Room is cramped
3) TV was almost as old as I am
4) Still using Covid as an excuse not to offer a continental breakfast
5) Squeaky bed frame in the room above us reverberated through the ceiling
6) Location is almost on top of a busy highway and very noisy
7) And for an all time first in a hotel I ran out of hot water midway through my shower

On the positive side:
1) Room was clean
2) Among the best hamburger I ever had was served by Spelunkers directly across the street

Clean room and a nice breakfast!

Room was clean and the breakfast (which we usually skip) had eggs, bagels, waffles and meats. very nice.

We loved this place!

Beautifully clean, friendly staff, convenient location! Dog bones and a toy for our Lola when we checked in! Our room had a great kitchenette with perfect sized fridge and freezer, big microwave, nice deep sink and a full sized dishwasher. Kitchen towels, potholders and sponge with dish soap. Terrific breakfast and really lovely seating area in the lobby. I wish that every hotel we stay at could be just like this! Thank you to this perfect venue and it's attentive staff!!

Charming Inn in Great Location

A wonderful lodge setting a short 5 minute walk from downtown Lake Placid. Firepit at night weather permitting. Rooms are clean and comfortable although daily cleaning service is not provided given Covid restrictions. Very clean communal kitchen with complimentary coffee. Grassy hill nearby for your pet to visit. Highly recommended.

You get what you pay for

Buyer beware. Very old and run down hotel. AC didn't work properly and we had a family of fruit flies living with us.
