No AC! Poorly planned, poorly maintained, poor service

We reserved our room weeks in advance, paid thousands for an 8 day stay, called ahead to notify of late checkin, were told our room would be ready for us, arrived to check in and they hadn’t held our room. We reserved a king and were given a room with two full beds. The AC was broken our first night and it was over 85 degrees in our room on the 14th floor and we were unable to sleep. They barely apologized or did anything except “tough luck.” I wrote an email to the contact provided for guaranteed customer satisfaction with no response.

The listing said there was a nice patch of grass outside for dogs to go potty. There’s no grass within walking distance that the staff could even think of. Bringing a pup that’s not used to the city is difficult to find a place she’s comfortable going to the bathroom and that patch of grass is part of why I picked this hotel.

The place is also run down and a bit gross. There was hair on the wall in the shower before we used it. The hallways have food and crumbs on the floor, even a grape my dog found and I had to stop her from eating, and every finish in the rooms (I’ve now stayed in two different ones) has holes or is peeling or is loose and damaged or dysfunctional in some way. Just doesn’t feel clean.

The layout of the rooms makes no sense because the closet is the centered view from the bed and the TV is off to the side. The provided chair is the wrong height for the bar height desk. All of the cups/mugs are single use. The refrigerator barely keeps things colder than room temperature. Most floors don’t have ice. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in and I’ve stayed in other NYC hotels.

Worst hotel experience yet

Everything has been broken and dysfunctional from the AC to the shades on the window. Poorly cleaned. Bad layout design.
