Great Location
Red Roof Inn KingslandRight off I-95 but tucked behind other businesses on Rte 40 so location was quiet but convenient. Lots of restaurants and fast food within walking distance. Room was the standard hwy motel design and didn't show too many signs of wear and tear, Room was clean but housekeeping was not overly conscientious. Dehumidifier tank was full when we arrived, someone's ice cream was still in the freezer, and the only in-room coffee option was decaf. Continental breakfast included a waffle maker, toaster, breads and cereal, Coffee carafe was always full (I visited 3 times between 6 and 9). Good sized grassy area for walking the dog - no bags supplied. We were given an end room to minimize people walking by and upsetting the dog.

Nice newer building
Microtel Inn by Wyndham WilsonWe had an end room on the first floor with easy outside access. The building is set back at the end of the street so there was plenty of grass and no traffic to speak of. There was no designated dog walk, we were told anywhere on the grass was fine. No poop bags were supplied. A very minimalist continental breakfast was available for the humans in our group.

Great hotel, Great location
Aloft Asheville DowntownOur king room was comfortable and conveniently laid out. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel bar where our dog was able to meet several canine friends. The $15 parking fee was reasonable for a big city and enabled us to stay in town a full day after check out. Lots of galleries, restaurants and breweries within easy walking distance. Our dog was welcome at all of them.

Uncomfortable Vibes
Red Roof Inn Harrisburg NorthThe room felt damp, the shower drain was ringed with rust, there were tears in the wallboard and plastic pieces broken off the AC unit. When we were ready to leave, the parking lot was blocked by five Sheriff's cruisers. The officers were questioning several men on the property who were not hotel guests.

Friendly people
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Wilson NCGot a great room on the first floor, near the dog walk. There are hamburger and pizza places in the same complex. The hot breakfast is a bonus. Recommend this hotel.
