Our Halfway Stop
Quality Inn & Suites Ashland Near Kings DominionOur check-in was easily handled by their friendly staff. Our room appeared clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and clean. However, my wife noted a musty mildew odor in the room. The hotel location was very convenient to food, fuel and the highway, which we appreciated.
Not as nice as in the past!
Ramada by Wyndham WythevilleI've been staying at the Wytheville Ramada for at least 5 years in my annual travels. I liked the fact that dogs are welcome and the included hot breakfast in the dining room. However, this visit was quite disappointing. Our room was definitely dedicated to owners with pets, as in having wood laminated floors. A great idea I thought. However, the rest of the room looked very tired and outdated. The room was clean and tidy but in need of a refresh. The room decor could do with a major overhaul. That said, the beds are extremely comfortable. Our other major disappointment was the loss of the hot breakfast in the dining area. We were left with cold cereal, cold pastries, yogurt and fruit to be eaten either in the front lobby or in your room. Very disappointing in deed. I'm truly sorry to say that the Wytheville Ramada has definitely gone down hill in my opinion. I used to recommend this hotel to fellow travelers, but I'm afraid I can no longer recommend the Wytheville Ramada Inn.
Quite a nice place to spend the night
Comfort Inn St. CatharinesWe arrived later than expected at the Comfort Inn in St. Catharines due to horrendous traffic on the 401, 403, & QEW. What else is new! Eh? Our room was as expected, clean, tidy and with a pleasant decor. The hotel was quite full but surprisingly and pleasantly quiet. We had a good but short sleep on the comfortable bed and left very early the next morning. This was our second stay at the Comfort Inn St. Catharines and I would highly recommend it any time.
Very nice hotel.
Comfort Inn EmporiaWe were pleasantly surprised with our room at the Sleep Inn Emporia. The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was also very clean and tidy. The room even smelled nice and fresh. Our only complaint, when I made my reservations I asked for a ground floor do to having dogs with us. The management informed us that the top (4th) floor was reserved for smokers and travellers with pets. Our room was a non smoking room, thankfully.
The included breakfast was also a nice surprise. We plan on staying again at the Sleep Inn Emporia on our next trip to Florida. Very much recommended.
