Tailwaggers Doggy Daycare Appleton/Little Chute

Doggy daycare seemed to be the perfect solution for our new puppy, Loki, who had separation anxiety. My wife works in Little Chute so she was always close by in case of emergency. Everything seemed to be going well until September 22nd, 2017. Loki was 10lbs and not yet 5 months old.
Another dog chased him down unprovoked and attacked him in the Tailwaggers facility. That dog was two or three times the size of Loki. We were told that they could hear him screaming but nobody was watching the small dog side at the time. Other dogs had gathered around. My boy never stood a chance to get out from underneath the pile of dogs.
After a worker finally made it out to break up the attack, they put Loki in a kennel by himself. They knew in their records that he cannot be alone due to his separation anxiety. To make matters worse, we were never called. My wife works less than a mile from the Tailwaggers facility and could have been there immediately had we received proper notification. When my wife got there to pick him up he was back with the tailwaggers owner. Apparently he had peed himself and was acting very strange. He was young but completely house broken. He wouldn't normally pee in the house, much less on himself. My wife brought him home so she could try to help him relax and see how bad his injury was. His behavior scared her so she took him to the Animal Referral Center and the owner of Tailwaggers met us there. The owner kept saying she only saw rough play and no attack. The vet thought Loki was faking being hurt and sent us home with some pain medication since there was no break in his skin. Loki died two days later. A necropsy showed the other dog punctured Loki’s small intestine and he died of sepsis. Over two days we watched as our puppy’s organs shut down, all while being told “it was just play" from Tailwaggers and “he's just faking it for attention" from the animal referral center. Tailwaggers didn't even tell the family of the attacking dog what happened, but the dog is no longer allowed at the facility. I worry that dog is going to attack again since the owners are unaware of what happened to Loki.
Always make sure to ask about the size of dogs allowed in the small dog side, number of dogs allowed in, and the number of workers watching your dog. We were told that somebody would always be watching the dogs, but they weren’t. We were told Loki would be safe and happy, but he is dead.
Your dogs safety is the most important thing. We would do anything to have our baby boy back!

After the above review was posted on facebook, Tailwaggers disabled the review feature for their page and removed all the reviews for the business. Tailwaggers has also now found a way to remove the identical Yelp review that I posted. It seems that they have no problem trying to hide what happens at their facility.
