Not Very Pet Friendly

Best Western Plus Las Vegas West

This hotel tolerates pets, barely. At check-in you are asked to sign a paper with 10 items that pet owners must agree to. Two of these items speak to their “pet friendly walk area” and “a bathroom area”. It states that you should make sure you walk your dog in their “pet friendly walk area”. This area is a tiny little grass area, maybe 40 sf. That’s not enough room to walk a dog!! And heavens sake there should be more than one dog that needs to ”walk” or “use the bathroom” in this area at the same time.

Another statement reads “if your pet is left unattended and any disturbances arise, such as barking or scratching the door, you give our staff authorization to have the pet removed and relocated if necessary to curtail any further disturbances to adjacent guest rooms.” AND, “Shhh, refrain from barking and whining. If you’re not quiet and we receive two noise or disruptive complaints you and your owner will be asked to make alternate arrangements.”

And lastly pets are not allowed on their furniture or comfortable beds. Their beds are very comfortable!! First of all are there similar rules regarding disruptive children? Are they going to ask those parents to make alternate arrangements. Is the staff going to remove loud children? And where pray tell are they going to remove my pets to? If they can tolerate disruptive children or even disruptive adults for behaving they way they normally do, and you consider your establishment to be pet friendly, you better tolerate my dogs normal behavior. My point is that this hotel accepts pets in order to keep that clientele as customers. They are not however “pet friendly”.

Nice little grassy area for pups

Sheraton Albuquerque Airport Hotel

This hotel had a nice little grassy area for the fur babies and provides poopy bags. Not the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in but nice otherwise!

Very Nice

Whitney Peak Hotel Reno, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Really like this hotel and the staff. There are two draw backs to this hotel: one is the distance to the only dog walking area and the elevator situation. If you have young dogs this may not be a problem for you. But my dog is 12 years old and has really bad hip displaysia and a weak bladder. Having to wait sometimes up to 5 minutes is extremely hard for her. She actually ended up urinating on the rugs in front of the elevators on numerous occasions as well as in the lobby area. The staff were extremely understanding and never made her or us feel bad about these accidents. And once you’re out of the hotel the dog walking/park, which is very nice, is a block and a half away. Again, stressful and painful for my senior lady. Otherwise, nice hotel and rooms. Beds are not real comfy but everything was really clean, food was good and convenient to other casinos.

Pet Friendly Hotel

Best Western Plus North Platte Inn & Suites

This was a very nice hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our pets. They have a really nice grassy area for dogs to walk and do business on, which is crucial because everywhere else is dry, brittle and filled with those little round extremely painful stickers. Also very comfortable for people. Clean and very comfortable beds. Would certainly stay again.
