Myriad of issues, found another hotel

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbia / Fort Meade

We checked in, went to our room - which was NOT on the first floor - and found the door to be broken. The front desk gave us another room, but we had to revisit the front desk THREE TIMES before we got a key that operated the door. Once in the room, we unpacked and settled in. It was late - almost 10 pm. We needed to leave the hotel by 7 am the next morning for a soccer tournament. My son needed a shower. After 10 minutes of letting the water run, it was STILL COLD. I went to the front desk - AGAIN - who didn't seem to be surprised the hot water wasn't working, and seemed to acknowledge that it is a known problem. She gave me yet ANOTHER room...and as I was walking away, she suddenly declared that there might be a problem with that room too, and called me back to the desk.

At that point, i just told her we would be checking out. While I was waiting for her to deal with another customer during this last trip to the front desk, i searched for other pet friendly hotels in the area, and found somewhere else to stay. This hotel looked decent when you walk in - like the lobby was recently renovated. But the rooms were not to the same quality, and were pretty run down despite MAYBE a few newer items. We do not recommend this hotel. Our dog is very skittish in an elevator. The hotel smelled. It could have been passible for our short stay if there weren't so many issues just trying to get settled.
