Cute and quaint retro motel

Dame Fortune's Cottage Court

Dame Fortune Cottage Court is in an excellent location on the main strip through historic Hot Springs. It would be within walking distance if not for the sweltering hot Arkansas summer heat. The motel was quite nice and had a well-manicured lawn. The room was big and well-appointed. I appreciated the modern touches while maintaining it's mid-century charm. The staff I interacted with was warm and professional and referred to my pups by name. Would stay there again. Note: if walking your dogs around the neighborhood, beware that the sidewalks are not well-maintained and are broken with ledges and drop-offs you would find hard to see in the dark. I nearly broke my ankle walking my two around the community garden next to the church. This isn't a fault of the motel, of course, just a critique of the neighborhood it's in. Just be careful!

Nice pet friendly hotel

La Quinta by Wyndham Fort Worth Eastchase

We had a good time in Fort Worth and enjoyed our stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites Eastchase. The location was convenient, but the traffic noise from the interstate hampered enjoyment of the pool area. Our first two nights, the road noise was negligible inside our room, but the last night, it seemed a bit more intrusive for some reason. Perhaps I was just having a sleepless night and focused on it too much. Our second-floor room was comfortable and well-appointed with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, ironing board and iron.

The breakfast was good and the hotel had a pleasant, modern dining area. I did not use the laundromat or gym, but they looked nice and modern as I passed them. The evening desk clerk was very friendly and helpful, but all of the staff were nice to deal with. As for negatives, there was a lot of garbage blown off the freeway that accumulated in the grassy area we used for pet relief. There was a pet relief station with a box for doggy doo bags, but it was empty of bags and filled with leaves and twigs. (We had our own, but went out without them once and thought we could just grab a baggy from the station.) One of the two elevators was out of commission during our stay. There were a couple of soft spots in the second floor hallway that seemed concerning. Other reviewers of this hotel commented on low water pressure, but the water pressure in our room was more than adequate. I would stay here again.

Updated hotel in convenient location

La Quinta by Wyndham Bentonville

La Quinta Inn & Suites in Bentonville, Arkansas is a very nice hotel in a convenient location. It was easy to find on the main strip and the covered entryway was a godsend as a torrential downpour was in progress when we arrived. Check-in was efficient and hassle-free and our third floor hotel room was conveniently accessed by elevator (I would have preferred a ground floor room for the convenience of taking my dogs out to potty, but the third floor room at the back of the hotel made sense as far as minimizing potential barking from the rest of the hotel's guests.)

The room was nice and clean, appropriately accommodated with a king-size bed, cable TV, coffee maker, mini-fridge, microwave, iron and hair dryer. The hotel had an exercise room, hot tub and indoor pool. (I assume the pool was heated as children were swimming during our stay in mid-December, but we did not think to bring our swim wear and did not take advantage of these amenities). There was a convenient and adequate continental breakfast. The staff was very friendly and we were greeted warmly any time we came into contact with desk clerks, cleaning staff, and the woman tending the breakfast foods. I was pleased with this stay and would visit this La Quinta again.
