Great Hotel for Pets!

Best Western Dulles Airport Inn

Overall, the hotel was great. We did have a couple issues. PROS: We reserved a room with two double beds. We had 3 adults and two dogs in the room. There also was a table with two chairs, a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot in the room. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We took both our dogs (one 25 pounds and one 78 pounds) and were charged only $20 for the whole stay (2 nights). There was a nice grassy area outside to take the dogs to do their business. The hotel is located on a dead-end street and there are plenty of places to walk your dog. There were a couple of grassy areas with picnic tables and a grill on the backside of the hotel. There were also many outside tables on the concrete walkways down the center of the hotel outside walkway. The hotel had both a hot and cold breakfast each morning from 6am to 10am.

CONS: The room was pretty small. The refrigerator and the microwave were both located in the cabinet underneath the sink outside the bathroom. You really had to squat down to read the buttons on the microwave. The refrigerator was pretty small, as well, so make sure you don't have much cold stuff with you. All in all, they did suit our purposes though.

The hotel is located right on Route 28, so if you have a room on the backside of the hotel (where the pet area and the picnic tables are located), you will hear the Route 28 traffic unfortunately. Although there is more than one ice machine in the hotel, the only working ice machine during our stay was in the hotel lobby. We stayed at the hotel on a Friday and Saturday night. Unfortunately, both evenings there were many people sitting at the tables down the center outside walkway and they got very loud. Saturday evening was the worst with people screaming and laughing very loudly. A call to the front desk did encourage the people to keep it down a little and we were able to get to sleep.

I definitely WOULD stay at this hotel again if I am in that area. Now that I am aware of these issues, I would plan and choose my accommodations accordingly. As I already said, the hotel staff were very nice and accommodating to our needs. We could have asked to change rooms and we chose not to do that. Overall, I gave the hotel a good rating because that is how I felt about our stay. There aren't many places in that area to stay that allow dogs and don't charge an arm and a leg. Even though this room was small, the hotel was very clean and safe.
