Just OK

Edgewater Inn and Suites

The location of the hotel was good for accessing the beach, but only if you and your dog can go up and down a lot of stairs. Our dog is older with arthritis, so we weren’t able to take her onto the beach. There is a small patch of grass for dogs yo potty on but it is not enough if your dog needs to walk to properly potty. The neighborhood doesn’t have much grass either. The room was dog-friendly with clean floors (laminate paneling) that weren’t slippery. The doors open to the outside so you have to be cautious that your dog doesn’t run out when going in and out.

Deer and mud

Deer Haven Inn

The location of this hotel is great, we saw lots of deer everyday. One morning, a family of deer started following me and my dog on our walk along the street. I couldn't tell if it was a curiosity or protective move, so we crossed the street and gained some distance. But fun to see them out! The hotel has lots of trails and sidewalks to walk the dogs, but be warned, there is a lot of mud and dirt from the area that will be on your dogs' feet. I suppose this is why they have tiled and laminated flooring for easy clean up. However, my dog is old and has some physical conditions like arthritis, and she wasn't able to keep her feet from sliding on the floor. So, we put down towels along the floor so she could have some traction. I would love it if the hotel had some floor mats or runners available for old dogs. The room was clean and comfortable, however the smell of Pinesol cleaner was so strong, that even after trying to air it out for hours, it never went away. Overall, we enjoyed the room (and the fireplace), and would return.
